Chapter 210
But thankfully, once Finn was discharged from the hospital, they could finally get divorced.
She kept imagining her life with Finnian after his divorce, and for the first tin a while, she felt a bit of relief,
allowing herself to close her eyes.
The next couple of days passed quietly, and by Thursday afternoon, Finnian was finally out of the hospital.
Amara, however, was feeling uneasy.
They had agreed to finalize the divorce on the day he was discharged, but after multiple failed attempts in the
past, Amara was suddenly gripped by the fear that it might never succeed.
She knew she was probably just being paranoid, but she couldn't shake off the anxiety gnawing at her.
"I'll head hfirst. Let's meet at the city hall in two hours."
Will had cto pick up Finnian. After all, he had just been discharged and needed to rest at hand gather
the necessary documents before heading to the place.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSo they had a plan: Finnian and Will would head home, while Amara would return to her place, and they would
meet at the city hall at the agreed time.
After saying this, Amara was about to leave when Finnian called out to her, "Wait a minute."
She stopped in her tracks, her heart tightened.
She was already nervous about the possibility of the divorce not going through, and Finnian's call made her even
more apprehensive.
Turning around, she tried to maintain her composure as she asked, "Mr. Everly, is there something else?"
Finnian looked at her intently without uttering a word. Amara's anxiety, which had been at a manageable level,
now spiked due to the other's silence.
"Mr. Everly, what is it?" she asked again. "It's getting late. If there's nothing else, we should get going for the
preparations."
"Are you really in such a hurry to get divorced?" Finn questioned.
Well, of course, she was, but did he ask it earlier?
Amara couldn't just blurt that out. Even though she couldn't pinpoint why, she sensed that Finnian didn't want to
witness her eagerness to end things, and for a moment, she felt caught in a dilemma.
Seeing her struggle, Finnian quit the teasing and explained, "I didn't mean anything by it. | just wanted to ask if
you'd like to cback withto my place and then head to the city hatt together."
Amara looked up. "Really? Is that okay?"
Truthfully, she did want to go with Finnian, to watch him gather the documents, and then head to the place
together. She didn't want to be this suspicious, but only by being with Finnian every step of the way could she
truly feel at ease.
She just hadn't dared to voice this request, so Finnian's offer was unexpected.
"Of course, it's okay," Finnian replied nonchalantly. "Shall we?"
"Alright, I'll go with you!" Amara agreed immediately.
She joined Finnian and Will in the car, curious about why Finnian had extended the invitation. Could he sense her
apprehension? Maybe he wasn't entirely bad. He was a mix of good and evil, she mused.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmThey arrived at Finnian's apartment, and after entering, he went to change clothes while Amara wandered
around the living room. Slowly, she walked over to the window, taking in the surroundings.
So, this was where Finnian had lived for the past three years?
During those lonely nights, she often wondered where her husband lived, what his house was like, and if he
stayed away to avoid her. She had longed to see where he lived, but
that wish had never been fulfilled.
Now, on the brink of divorce, she finally stood in Finnian's home, yet the emotions
she once anticipated were nowhere to be found.
