Chapter 1412
Whenever work ramped up at the office, Dorothy could easily forget about her prenatal appointments.
Thankfully, Everett had them etched in his mind like they were written in stone. As soon as the clock reminded
him, he wouldn't miss it for the world!
Right after her meeting wrapped up and she returned to her office, there he was, waiting on the couch with a
prenatal visit bag in hand. It contained her maternity handbook, a blood pressure cuff, and more. "Finished with
your meetings, Ms. Sanchez?"
"... Yeah." Dorothy nodded, catching the playful tone in his voice and giving a small, amused smile, "I totally
forgot about it!"
He had reminded her just last night, but cmorning, with a minor hiccup in one of the projects, she was all
hands on deck and the 9 AM prenatal appointment slipped her mind.
"I've rescheduled it for 10:30. We can still make it if we leave now."
Everett was just worried about her neglecting the prenatal care, not really mad at her.

But...
"Can we possibly move it to tomorrow? I've got a meeting with our partners soon! It's all set."
When she was pregnant with Abigail and Langston, Dorothy hardly ever made it to her appointments on time. It
was usually the clinic calling to remind her before she'd squeeze in a visit.
"No." Everett frowned, "Nothing is more important than this. If the other party is unhappy, tell them to cto
Lopez Corporation and deal with me."
With that said, what could Dorothy possibly argue?
After all, she was the one who had convinced Everett to try for this child, promising she'd take care.
On the way to the hospital, Dorothy was buried in her phone calls.
She managed to postpone one meeting only for another project to hit a snag!
Leading a company...
Was truly no easy feat.
Dorothy had only realized how tough Everett had it after starting her own venture. Every day was a juggle.
"Everett, can | ask you something?"
As they were about to arrive, her phone finally went quiet.
"Go ahead." Everett glanced at her as they waited at a red light.
"Why are you so keen on these prenatal appointments? | mean...is missing one day really that big of a deal?
Being pregnant isn't as scary as you think. When | was pregnant
with Abigail and Langson
"Don't keep bringing up the past. That's because | wasn't by your side," Everett interjected with a serious tone,
"You can't even bother with prenatal care, Dorothy, and you bring this up?"
He was oblivious back then!
Otherwise, he would have made sure she attended, even if it meant dragging her there himself.
"There's another reason." Everett looked back at the road, the corners of his mouth slightly lifting, "During the
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmappointments, | get to hear our baby's heartbeat." Dorothy looked at him, surprised, "Just for that?"
"Yeah, | want to hear it."
She was still in the early stages of pregnancy, the baby's heartbeat wasn't distinct enough to be heard at home
with an amateur device.
Everett did sresearch; too many ultrasounds weren't good for the baby, so the appointments were the only
the could clearly hear the little one's heartbeat. Dorothy hadn't thought of that reason.
"Today, | plan to record it." Every
tEverett mentioned their child his eyes, softened with an
unmistakable tenderness, "When they're older, we can play it for them."
"Everett, next to you, | feel like a lousy mom!"
"It's good you know."
Dorothy pouted, "You're just too concerned!"
"Our child, how could I not be? If we're having this baby, it's everything." Otherwise, he wouldn't have it any
other way.
