Chapter 79 Preparing to Go Abroad Alexander was pretty taken aback when Allison started applying medicine to his wound. He hadn't seen that coming at all.

His shoulder had been swollen for a while, and he could barely lift his arm. But he was always the tough guy, never complaining about pain.

Now that Allison brought it up, the wound seemed to hurt even more. But he wanted to play it cool in front of her, so he said, "It's just a scratch, no need for medicine!" Allison snorted, arms crossed, giving him a look that could kill. "You sure about that?" Alexander grinned at her. She had this fierce vibe, but her petite frmade it hard to take her seriously. "How could I say no?" Allison rolled her eyes, took the computer from his hands, and handed it to James.

Allison asked, "Can you even stand up?" Alexander was good at hiding it, but Allison could see he was in a lot of pain, with sweat beading on his forehead. He hadn't moved an inch, which meant moving hurt like hell. James stepped in. "Mr. Carter, lethelp you..." "No need!" Alexander slowly got up, acting like everything was fine. But when they got to the treatment room and he took off his shirt, Allison saw his shoulder and back were covered in bruises, and her eyes welled up. James was shocked too. Alexander had been enduring all that pain without a single complaint.

"The ointment needs to be warmed up and then massaged in. It might hurt a bit, so hang in there!" Allison said, warming the ointment in her palms before gently massaging it into his bruises.

Despite her small size, Allison had sstrength. The cool ointment felt good on his injuries, and after a while, it turned into a warm sensation, helping with the bruising.

An hour later, they were done. Allison washed her hands, and James brought sclothes for Alexander. "I've arranged a rest room at the hospital. Mr. Carter and Ms. Bennett can rest there for a bit. I'll let you know if there's any news about Mr. Shaw!" Allison glanced at James. He looked exhausted. She nodded, "You should get srest too. Hunter will be fine tonight. Go to a hotel, take a shower, and get ssleep. Bring breakfast in the morning." James nodded respectfully, "Thanks, Ms. Bennett, for taking care of Mr. Carter." Alexander watched them. What did they think of him? Allison didn't care if Alexander was happy or not. She dragged him to the rest room and made him lie down. "Close your eyes and sleep. Don't think about anything!" Alexander held her hand. "Stay with me, or I can't sleep." There was only one bed and a simple sofa in the room. Allison planned to sleep on the sofa, but Alexander insisted she stay with him. With a sigh, she took off her shoes and lay down beside him. Alexander was thrilled, holding her close and soon falling asleep with her scent in his nose.

Allison was exhausted too and quickly fell asleep in his arms.

Hunter's condition improved, and he woke up the next morning. Allison checked him and found no signs of fever, meaning the worst was over.

Vance and Thora were overjoyed and thanked Allison profusely. "Ms. Bennett, thank you so much. The Shaw family owes you one. If you ever need anything, just ask!" Allison waved it off. "Vance, Hunter and I are friends. It was my duty to help him!" Vance looked at her with admiration. After spending a couple of days with her, Thora found herself liking Allison and even wished she could be her daughter-in-law! Alexander's family returned to Skycrest. Aiden wanted to take Allison to Carter Manor, but Alexander refused. "Dad, Allison's been through a lot these past few days. Let her rest for a bit!" Since Alexander said that, Aiden could only sigh inwardly, wondering when Alexander would finally introduce Allison to the whole Carter family.

Back at Oceanview Apartments, Allison finally breathed a sigh of relief, took a shower, and got smuch- needed sleep.

When she woke up, it was already afternoon, and she was surprised to find Felicity still there. "Felicity, aren't you off work yet?" Felicity smiled and explained, "Mr. Aiden Carter askedto stay and take care of you. Don't worry, I won't bother you, and I'll stay out of your way unless you need something." Allison wasn't too keen on having a maid around since she was used to being alone, but she couldn't refuse Aiden's kindness.

Felicity continued, "You must be hungry. I made schicken soup. Mr. Carter askedto prepare snutritious meals for you. You need to take good care of yourself these days!" Allison shook her head and sat down at the dining table. "I'm leaving the country tomorrow, so you don't need to prepare anything. I'll have it when I get back." "Leaving tomorrow?" Felicity paused, then cautiously asked, "Ms. Bennett, do you have something important to do abroad? Are you going alone? I've heard it's pretty chaotic abroad right now, and it's not safe for a girl to go alone!" Allison smiled at Felicity. "I'm going with my brother. We'll be back in about a week. Don't worry!" Felicity nodded, went to the kitchen to bring out the food, and then secretly sent a message to Alexander on her phone.

Early the next morning, Jasper cto pick up Allison. When the car arrived downstairs, Allison cdown with simple luggage, dressed in black sportswear, wearing a baseball cap, carrying a backpack, and a black mask that almost completely covered her face.

"Let's go, Jasper!" Allison said.

After putting the luggage in the trunk, Jasper drove to the airport. "Dad is working on getting his travel restrictions lifted. It should be resolved in three to five days at most." She looked at Jasper in the rearview mirror. "Jasper, what do you think about Preston?" Jasper looked at Allison, a bit surprised. She didn't even call him "Dad" anymore, clearly not wanting to acknowledge him as her father.

Thinking of this, Jasper shook his head and said, "Allison, he is still your father after all!" Hearing his words, Allison just sneered, then asked, "Jasper, you knew about your background a long tago, right?" Jasper gripped the steering wheel tightly and admitted frankly. "I found out when I graduated from elementary school. I overheard Mom and Dad arguing in the study."

Preston, the second child of the Bennett family, had adopted his brother's child, Jasper, but nevermentioned it publicly. That argument was about school. Although Blair wasn't Jasper's biological mother, she had always treated him as her own and wanted him to attend an international school, but Preston refused, leading to their argument. Jasper still remembered what Preston had said that day: "I've done my duty by raising him. He's not even your biological child, so why are you so concerned? Are you made of money?" This was the first tJasper saw Preston's true colors. The loving father who doted on him every day had actually been acting all along.

Allison continued to ask, "So you also know about Preston's company abroad?" Jasper subtly glanced at Allison in the rearview mirror and then nodded. "I know a bit. I originally thought he was just keeping a backup plan for himself. I didn't expect him to be so heartless!"

Allison snorted coldly and said, "He didn't adopt you out of kindness. It was for the 20% shares in your name. He transferred the company's assets because he knew the Bennett Group's heir wouldn't be him. He planned to leave you with an empty shell of the Bennett Group while he squandered the transferred assets. That's the life he wants!" Allison had to admit that Preston was very patient. He had been the vice chairman of the Bennett Group for over a decade, slowly siphoning off assets bit by bit.

Jasper said, "I won't let him succeed, Allison. He doesn't deserve to be a father. He was involved in what m happened back then. He hates us and everything about the Bennett family. When you get abroad, you'll see just how disgusting he really is!"
