Chapter 206
They had been in this state for another two weeks. No sparks, no fire.
Harvey would ask Eloise out, and she would rarely say no. She would always accommodate his wishes, but she
was always calm and gentle, different from the fiery temperament she once possessed.
In contrast to her calmness, Harvey was becoming more and more dissatisfied. He would rather have her lose
her temper at him, even if it meant she might slap him across the face. Wasn't she always so feisty with him in
the past?
Finally, he realized that when she loved him, she couldn't help but be cheeky and daring with him. Now that she
no longer loved him, she treated him with respect, never offended him, and was ready to pick up and leave with
dignity at any time.
To hell with dignity!
Harvey ended up getting drunk at the club. In the private booth, there was the usual crowd, even Max was there.
Riley rarely went out after his marriage. It was only because he heard Harvey was there that he cto keep
him company. After all, Harvey and Eloise had done him a big favor with the Veronica situation.
Riley patted him on the shoulder. "How are you feeling? If you need, | can drive you home!"
Harvey, leaning back on the couch, exhaled smoke languidly. He looked
irresistibly sexy. There were sgirls in the booth, all stealing glances at him, but none dared to approach him,
given his reputation for being standoffish. So, they settled for just admiring.
Riley guessed Harvey's predicament and chuckled. "With looks like yours, who could resist?"
"Cut it out!" Harvey shot him a sidelong glance and spoke in a low voice. "Isn't Eloise one of them? Riley... I've
given her everything. Why can't she warm up to me? She used to be so attentive to me, blushing whenever she
saw me, even enjoying...sex with me!"

Riley chuckled awkwardly. Women, unlike men, enjoyed sex when they were in love, but it was a struggle when
they fell out of it! He didn't want to upset Harvey, so he suggested they leave. "You've had too much to drink. Let
Harvey shot him another glance. Then, he tossed his phone to Riley. "Call Eloise. She should still be at the
Crescendo Sound Workshop. Tell her to cpickup!"
Riley was stunned. Was he really that shameless? He chuckled awkwardly. "Harvey, are you actually drunk or just
pretending?"
Harvey didn't answer, just stubbed out his cigarette and drank half a glass of brandy, intending to get himself
completely drunk.
Riley was caught in a difficult position. He dialed the number after sthought. After four or five rings, Eloise
answered. Riley quickly apologized with a laugh. "Eloise, it's Riley... Harvey's drunk. Could you possibly cto
pick him up?"
Eloise had just finished a meeting.
Stuart had given her a great project, and she had just finalized a team. They were leaving for a business trip the
next day and would be gone for about two weeks.
After hearing Riley's request, Eloise paused. She knew Harvey was upset, and it had something to do with her.
She couldn't say she felt nothing, but she wouldn't feel sorry for him anymore.
They had broken up, and this was their relationship now. There were countless wonderful girls in the world. She
believed that even without her, Harvey could find the love he desired with his qualities.
Eloise didn't refuse. She was leaving the next day and felt she should say something to Harvey. Eloise nodded,
"Okay, sendthe address. I'll be there in about half an hour!"
Riley was extremely grateful. "Eloise, you're so generous!"
Eloise joked with him, "Stop flattering me! Go hand spend twith Veronica!"
Riley immediately made a few cheeky remarks, which made Eloise laugh. However, after hanging up, he realized
something was off. Eloise agreed to come, but she didn't inquire about Harvey's condition at all.
Riley felt a chill from head to toe. He used to have high hopes for them, but now, things were unclear.
After hanging up, Eloise prepared to leave, but when she looked up, she saw Dwight standing by the door with a
gloomy expression, staring intently at her. Eloise spoke gently, "You did well just now!"
Dwight walked in and sat on her desk. He dropped his hostile gaze and casually asked her, "Are you going to see
Harvey?"
Eloise hummed in response.
Dwight frowned. "Do you really like him that much?"
Eloise was taken aback. She quickly regained her composure and said, "You shouldn't interfere in my personal
affairs. We agreed on that! | got this project with Mr. Arellano thanks to you, and I think it's fair to give you 30%
of the commission. You shouldn't take money lightly. It's the foundation of wealth!"
Dwight's eyes reddened slightly. He was at a loss for words because this woman always said things for his
benefit, just like his father would.
Eloise smiled lightly. "Tell my mom [I'll stop by tomorrow morning."
Dwight teased her, "Wow! You actually have tto visit her. | thought you'd only have tfor Horigan!"
Eloise grimaced, feeling that he needed a lesson.
In the end, they left together. Dwight drove her BMW, and Eloise had another car with a dedicated driver. She got
in the car and gave the driver the nof the club. The driver jolted, then chuckled. "That's a high-end place
known as Heaven on Earth!"
Eloise gave a light laugh. She sat quietly in the back seat, looking at the bustling city lights and counting the
days. It had been two months since she and Harvey agreed on a one-year relationship. Tflew by so quickly.
The black car stopped at the club entrance, where Riley was already helping Harvey out. Eloise saw that Harvey
had been drinking, but was not heavily intoxicated. Knowing his intentions, she softly asked the driver to help

The driver understood their situation and couldn't help but comment, "Ms. Laurent, you're very magnanimous!"
Eloise just smiled lightly.
The driver and Riley helped Harvey into the car. Once he was in the car, the scent of a man mixed with a hint of
alcohol and pine filled the car. It was strangely enticing.
Eloise turned to him and asked softly, "Why did you drink so much?"
Harvey leaned back in the seat. He reached up to loosen his tie and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt.
After a few drinks, Harvey's skin was flushed with a light pink hue, emitting an enticing aura. Eloise, conscious of
the driver in the front, quickly grabbed his hand, stopping him from further disrobing. "Even if you're
uncomfortable, wait until we're hto change!" she admonished. Harvey paused, glancing at her sideways.
Eloise responded with a small smile, her gaze fixed on the road ahead.
Harvey closed his eyes, seemingly lost in a drunken stupor. But after about ten minutes, he let out a quiet sigh,
"Eloise, don't be so cold to me."
The driver in front cleared his throat subtly. Eloise could only feign ignorance. After half an hour, the car pulled
up to his mansion. Eloise supported Harvey as they got out of the car, dismissing the driver.
Clearly, Harvey was just a bit tipsy. He only wanted to see her.
Eloise helped him sit down in the living room before heading to the kitchen to make scoffee, an effective
antidote to his intoxication. She reflected on the day's meeting as she brewed it. Suddenly, she felt arms wrap
around her waist from behind. A familiar scent enveloped her, but she didn't resist. Instead, she murmured
softly, "Stop it. I'm making you scoffee. Riley said you have a court hearing tomorrow morning! You really
shouldn't have drunk so much." Harvey chuckled lowly. He kissed the soft spot behind her ear, nibbling gently on
her sensitive skin. It was a spot that made Eloise shiver at the slightest touch, a ghe'd taken a liking to
recently. It seemed like the only the could elicit any reaction from her was when he teased her. After a while,
he whispered in her ear, "Eloise, let's spend Valentine's Day together."
Valentine's Day? Eloise was taken aback. She'd been so busy with work recently that she'd lost track of the days,
let alone remembered that Valentine's Day was approaching.
In his pocket, Harvey's fingers brushed against a small velvet box. He murmured, "Letplan this one, okay?"
Eloise finished pouring the coffee and paused before saying, "I have to go on a business trip tomorrow!"
