“Are you pushing your luck with your job?”
Locke responded, “No, I'm being serious. Feelings are unpredictable. Aren't you worried things might go south
one day?”
Reading the message, Ellis’s lips curled into a faint smile, his eyes softening with warmth that rarely surfaced. He
typed his reply with composed ease.
Ellis said, “That's the kind of thing other people might worry about—not me. We're not just a couple. We're
partners who can count on each other when it counts.”
They had stared death in the face and clawed their way through hell together. He trusted Freya, just as she
trusted him.
Locke smiled at the response, then turned to process the documents. If Ellis believed in this as deeply as he did,
he would give his blessing without question. Ellis and Freya were bound to find forever in each other.
