Chapter 333: Chapter 323 Manhan’s Hostility Towards Qiao Jing
“Drink, you must drink. Once you've had a drink, take the opportunity to let Xiao Jing conceive my great-
grandson. Then | can take my great-grandson out to play,” said Old Master Zhan, unable to contain his
excitement.
Su Manhan’s expression instantly darkened. In her heart, Xinrou was the daughter-in-law she acknowledged.
She had urged Qipei, not to have a child with Qiao Jing, but with Xinrou.
However, with her husband and son present, she couldn’t voice her thoughts.
Zhan Nanging noticed her mother’s expression and knew what she was thinking.
Now, she no longer wanted Lou Xinrou to be her sister-in-law. After dinner, she'd have to talk to her mother
about the surveillance footage.
Upon hearing Old Master Zhan’s words, Qiao Jing twitched the corner of her mouth, and her delicate brows
knitted tightly.
She looked helplessly toward the elder.
“Grandpa Zhan, actually, Qipei and I...,” she began.
Zhan Yuanshan immediately interrupted Qiao Jing, speaking earnestly.
“Xiao Jing, | know what you want to say. It's just that | don’t have much tleft, only one more week. If you
don’t letsee my great-grandson, I'll be really upset!” he said, his gaze falling upon Qiao Jing’s belly, his old
face alight with anticipation.
“If you really care about this old man, lethold my great-grandson as soon as possible.”
Qiao Jing grew even more helpless and massaged her temples.
“Grandpa Zhan, you will live a long and healthy life,” she said.
Zhan Qipei saw Qiao Jing’s difficulty and didn’t want to discuss the topic any further.
“Let’s eat, Grandpa. Let's not talk about this now. Don’t worry, I'll make an effort,” Qipei said, his words
effectively silencing Zhan Yuanshan, who nodded in satisfaction.
“That puts my mind at ease,” the old man acknowledged, then started to eat.
After Zhan Yuanshan began to eat, Su Manhan no longer urged Qipei to drink the soup and simply started eating
as well.
When Qiao Jing heard what Qipei said, she glanced at him sideways and shot the man a glare.
What did he mean by making an effort? She would never let such a thing happen again; last twas just an

Zhan Nanging watched her brother for a while and, when she looked at Qiao Jing, caught her gaze.
There was a warning in Qiao Jing’s eyes.
Zhan Nanging nodded seriously at Qiao Jing, signaling that she would keep the pregnancy a secret.
After the meal, Zhan Qipei and Qiao Jing left Purple Garden.
With her phone in hand, Zhan Nanging approached Su Manhan.
“Mom, you remember the incident with Jiang Ling, right?” she asked.
Manhan responded with a nonchalant hum, changed the TV channel, and sat cracking sunflower seeds on the
couch.
“What about it?” Manhan inquired.
Without hesitation, Nanqing displayed the surveillance footage and handed the phone to her mother.
“Take a look at this,” she urged.
Moments later, Su Manhan put the phone down, looking at Zhan Nanging.
“What are you trying to say?” she questioned.
Zhan Nanging spoke earnestly, trying to make her mother see Lou Xinrou’s true colors.
“Xinrou has changed; she’s not the Xinrou we knew before. | know you want her to be your daughter-in-law, but
the person she is now doesn’t deserve to be my sister-in-law,” Nanqing said persuasively.
Su Manhan’s eyebrows furrowed, and she looked displeasedly at Zhan Nanqging.
“In the footage, Xinrou just raised her hand; there's nothing showing her pushing anyone. What are you getting
at? Xinrou doesn’t deserve to be your sister-in-law, so Qiao Jing does?” Manhan challenged.
Zhan Nanging felt a headache coming on. Her mother’s prejudice against Qiao Jing ran too deep, and persuading
her would be difficult.
But she was unwilling to let go of this chance and continued, “Mom, why is your hostility towards Qiao Jing still
so strong? Xinrou really isn’t the sas she used to be.”
Su Manhan scoffed coldly and was unwilling to listen to Zhan Nanging.
“Xinrou has been like a child tosince | was young, and | know full well how kind she is. You must know as
well, so why are you turning your back on her?”
“Before, | turned a deaf ear when you occasionally spoke up for her, but now look at you, running toto speak
on behalf of Qiao Jing?”
Zhan Nanging didn’t give up and continued speaking.
“Regarding the surveillance issue, both my brother and I have concluded that it’s highly unlikely Qiao Jing laid a
hand on anyone, and it's almost certain it was Xinrou who did it.”
“I don’t believe it. No matter what you say, | won't believe it. Besides, the angle of the video is tricky, and the
quality is somewhat blurry; it can’t prove that it was Xinrou who did it.”
Su Manhan has been speaking up for Lou Xinrou all along.
Zhan Nanging hesitated for a moment but, in an attempt to convince Su Manhan, brought up another matter.
“There's another thing you don’t know about. Xinrou sent Qiao Jing a sachet with substances in it that cause
infertility in women and miscarriages in pregnant women. She really isn’t the Xinrou | knew.”
Su Manhan was stunned for a moment, hardly believing what she had heard.
Substances causing infertility? Xinrou would never do such a thing!
“Impossible! How could Xinrou possibly send such a thing? Even if there really was something inside, she
definitely wouldn't have known about it. What kind of spell has Qiao Jing cast on you and your brother...”
Zhan Nanging saw that he simply couldn't persuade his mother and gave up for the tbeing.
“Forget it, | won't talk about it anymore.”
Su Manhan replied unconcernedly.
“Even if you talk about it, | won't believe it.”
The next morning.
Qiao Jing was on her way to the Red Cross Society and waiting for a taxi on the road when she heard a “bang.”
What followed was the chaotic sound of pedestrians’ footsteps.
Among these sounds, a feeble voice was also intermingled.
“Could someone help... liftup, young man... please... help me...”
After hearing the voice, Qiao Jing looked up at the crowd that had gathered.
An old lady lay on the ground while the driver who had hit her drove away.
The scene was left with just the onlookers and the old lady lying on the ground.
The young man the old lady had addressed was taken aback and let out an “Ouch.”
“Old lady, | really don’t dare to help you up; I'm afraid if I do, my BMW will turn into a bicycle.”
The old lady continued to beg the passersby around her desperately.
“Help me, please, is there any kind soul who can lenda hand? I'm not a scammer, please save me...”
Another passerby couldn't bear to watch anymore.

However, not a single person was willing to lend a hand to the old lady.
Suddenly, someone emerged from the crowd.
Qiao Jing squeezed through the crowd and, upon seeing the old lady on the ground, helped her up without
hesitation.
“Grandma, are you alright? Did you hurt yourself anywhere?”
Upon finally having someone willing to help her, the old lady’s tears began to flow, and she clutched her waist.
“Young girl, | really thank you so much. Could you possibly helpcall an ambulance?”
