Brad didn't falter for even a second. He continued to walk as if he hadn't heard Zara.

However, he was also wondering about the sthing. What was it about Nadine that made her worth all this effort? He thought long and hard but couldn't figure out what made her so special. Yet, he still wanted to be with her. He enjoyed the tthey spent together, even if those moments of happiness were few and far between.

He couldn't explain what was so great about her, but being around her made him feel happy.

Zara refused to give up even though she didn't get a response from Brad. "What does she have that I don't, Brad Hamilton? She doesn't even like you! She's so cold toward you. Why can't you like someone else?" But no matter how loudly she yelled, Brad didn't respond. He was as fast as lightning, and within seconds, he disappeared from her sight.

After a while, his bodyguards released her. Zara collapsed to the ground, her face drained of color. "Why? What makes Nadine better than me? Why do you only like her?" The only response she got was the faint whisper of the wind through the window.

Brad didn't mention this incident to anyone. By the the returned to the dining room, Nadine had already packed up her belongings and was saying goodbye to Seraphina.

He hadn't expected her to want to leave so badly, and his face darkened even more. He walked up to Seraphina and said politely, "Dr. Hawthorne, I need to talk to Nadine for a moment. Shall I have my bodyguards take you home?" Seraphina shook her head. "No, it's alright. I drove here. I'm just waiting for my assistant to return from the restroom. We'll be on our way, then." Brad didn't insist. He grabbed Nadine's bag with one hand, pulled her close with the other, and said a quick goodbye to Seraphina. With that, he headed toward the restaurant's main entrance with Nadine in tow.

While Brad was in the restroom, Nadine gathered her belongings and said goodbye to Seraphina. She had hoped to slip away unnoticed. But to her surprise, Brad returned so quickly, leaving her with no chance to escape. Now that he had her bag in one hand and his other was wrapped around her waist, there was no way for her to escape. Nadine mentally kicked herself for not acting sooner.

Realizing she couldn't get away, she reluctantly accepted her fate and let herself be ushered into his car. With a loud thud, the car door slammed shut, and the temperature inside the vehicle dropped in an instant.

She knew why Brad was angry, but she didn't want to explain herself or cheer him up. Nadine believed that the best course of action was for them to go back to being strangers, with neither of them interfering in the other's life. That was the right thing to do.

The reason Brad kept pursuing her was simply because he felt used. Brad was not a man to let a perceived slight go unpunished would be out of character for him to not bother her. Nadine was aware that he just wanted to get back at her. św Fortunately, she had already prepared herself mentally and was determined not to fall for Brad again. She knew it would be her undoing if she did.

The driver in the front seat remained laser-focused on the road, sensing the suffocating tension in the backseat. He didn't dare glance at the rearview mirror or even turn on the music.

Nadine kept her mouth shut like a clam. Brad, with a hardened expression, stared at her side profile. 1, In the end, he broke the silence. "How dare you reject me? Nadine Scott, you're the first woman who has ever rejected me!" He was good-looking and rich, and the number of women vying for his attention could stretch from Janctera City all the way to Francelot. Even Jean had been the one to pursue him first.

He had always been able to get women with little effort. All he had to do was curl his finger, and they would flock to him. But when it cto Nadine, nothing seemed to work.

What stung even more was how Zara had clearly pointed out that he was m pursuing Nadine, and yet she played ng Nadine and dumb. Even her excuse for rejecting him- however rational it sounded on the surface-was nothing short of absurd.

Could she not date and focus on her both studies at the stime? They were both adults. He understood the underlying message. Nadine couldn't reject him outright, so she cup with a flimsy excuse.
