Elysia reached out, gently held Elena’s wrist, and said nothing. She could tell Elena and Olliver weren't close and

could sense Elena’s emotions, but she didn’t know what to say to comfort Elena.

Sometimes, a simple touch was enough to show support. It was like saying, “You still have me. That was what

Elysia wanted Elena to feel, even if she didn’t say it out loud.

“Elysia, do you think | made a mistake?” Elena asked quietly.

Elysia looked toward the door and said slowly, “I remember when | first learned about my background. I didn’t

want to acknowledge the Evans family, and you toldthat you'd supportno matter what.

“| feel the sway today. We're not bound by right or wrong. We just need to be there for each other. So, you

didn’t mess up. You just said what you truly felt. And that’s okay.”

Elena looked at Elysia calmly. “Thank you, Elysia.”

Ava stood to the side, listening to their conversation and piecing together what had happened earlier. She was

pretty sure about Elena and the man who Elysia had called Mr. Shelton-they were father and daughter.

But why they were estranged was beyond her. Only Elena could explain that. Ava watched Elena’s profile and

followed Elysia’s lead, holding Elena’s other wrist.

With both hands held tightly by her friends, Elena felt a lot more at ease. She glanced at Ava, then back at

Elysia. She wasn't the sperson she used to be. At least, she wasn’t alone anymore. She had friends-more

than one.

Most of the guests had left the party by now, and Logan finally had a moment to walk over. His gaze swept over

the group and landed on Elena. He smiled warmly and said, “Long tno see.”

“Yeah, it's been a long time,” replied Elena.

“Logan, are you only seeing Elena? What about Ava and me? Are we invisible? And you talk about strong sibling

bonds? Seems like it’s just talk,” Elysia teased.

Logan laughed, “Are you jealous, Elysia? | was thinking of greeting one person at a time. | saw Elena first, so

naturally, | greeted her first.”

“In the end, you noticed Elena first,” Elysia pouted, pretending to be annoyed.

Elena glanced at her sideways. “Elysia, if you keep teasing me, I'll be upset.”

Her voice sounded harsh, but there was no anger in it. Elysia knew she was just joking. Being able to joke meant

she was feeling better-at least a little.

Logan and Elena already knew each other, but it seemed like he hadn't met Ava yet. Elysia pointed to Ava and

said, “Logan, this is Ava Brown. She's my friend, too.”

Logan nodded. “Hi, I'm Logan Jackson, the youngest of Elysia’s elder brothers.”

“Elder brother?” Elena raised an eyebrow. ‘Isn't he supposed to be her cousin? When did that change?’

Seeing Elena’s confusion, Elysia explained, “I've acknowledged the Jackson family as my second family. Since

Logan is younger than my fourth brother, he’s the youngest of my elder brothers now.”

Logan nodded, looking at Elena and saying, “That's right. But you have no idea how tough it was to go from c

“I never said that. Being your brother is a blessing for me,” Logan said seriously.

Ava suddenly seemed to realize something and looked surprised. “Elysia, does this mean you have five brothers

now?”

Elysia nodded and then Ava added, “Being an only child, I really envy you.”

“Don’t be envious. How about | ‘lend’ you my brothers for a couple of days?” Elysia joked.

“What do you want to lend?” Fabian walked over with a strong presence, leading a group of three.

Elysia was about to answer when Ava quickly covered her inouth and whispered, “Don’t lend them out. | wouldn't

dare take them.” She let go of Elysia and stepped back.

“Why wouldn't you dare?” Elysia leaned in and asked softly.

“Your brothers have such a strong presence. If we can’t reach an agreement and they refuse to lend themselves,

then I'd be the one in trouble,” Ava said, laughing.
