Chapter 409 Mount Hyrul Monastery Finished To her surprise, the young monk didn't flinch. In fact, he seemed to take a small step back, as if trying to avoid any conflict.
He spoke, his face remaining calm and expressionless, "I've been looking after this annex for three years now. I've seen all the regular visitors, including the abbot's old friends, but I've never met this gentleman before. You two should leave." A burst of laughter rang out from outside the annex.
"We told you to wait outside, but you didn't listen. Do you really think you can fool the monk who's been around the abbot for so long? He's not as casy to trick as you think." "Yeah, it's amazing how persistent people can be. They've been turned down three times already, but they still refuse to leave. It's really something to see." At that moment, it wasn't just Leah who felt embarrassed-Willard's face was growing darker by the second.
His hand shot out, pointing directly at the young monk, clearly about to scold him.
But then, something seemed to stop him. He took a deep breath, calming himself, and with a sharp flick of his hand, he turned away and walked off without another word.

Charmaine had genuinely believed that Emyr was taking her to the monastery for roasted chicken, and she was starting to feel a little uneasy about it.
She even pulled out her phone and searched online, "Is it okay to eat chicken at a monastery?" Thankfully, the car suddenly veered off the main road, cutting through a narrow mountain path. After a few turns, it cto a stop in front of a small house.
The building in front of them sat halfway up the mountain. Charmaine wasn't sure if it was still part of Mount Hyrul Monastery, but when she looked up, she could see the tall buildings in the distance.
Emyr got out of the car. Noticing Charmaine hesitating while looking down at her phone, he chuckled softly. Not wanting to tease her any longer, he reached over, gently pulling her out of the car. He held her hand with one hand while using the other to guide his wheelchair, keeping pace with her. "This house has been here long before the monastery was built. It's Sudbay's very first roasted chicken restaurant. If you think about it, it's almost a hundred years old." As they entered the building, Charmaine saw a small sign on the wall with uneven chalk writing, Sudbay Roasted Chicken.
Moments later, an elderly man with white hair appeared, greeting them with a warm smile. He led them to a table and poured them tea.

Charmaine couldn't help but be impressed. She turned to Emyr and asked, "Did you already place an order?" "This place only serves roasted chicken," Emyr replied. "There's nothing else on the menu." "Okay." Noticing her curiosity, Emyr began telling the story of the restaurant.
"Legend has it that about a century ago, a young couple ran away together against their parents' wishes and settled here at Mount Hyrul.
"At that time, wild chickens were everywhere. The couple started selling roasted chicken after setting up their home. They were really good at it, and soon their business took off. They had children and lived happily together.
"But one year later, war broke out, and rebel forces took over Mount Hyrul. In the chaos, the husband was taken away and disappeared without a trace. The wife refused to believe he was dead. Emyr chuckled and gently tapped her on the head. "Not all monasteries practice vegetarianism." Charmaine's eyes brightened. "Oh, I see!" An hour and a half later, the roasted chicken was ready. The tender, flavorful meat practically fell off the bone, and Charmaine ate it with a satisfied grin.
After they had eaten their fill, the two of them made their way toward the monastery, entering through a back gate.
Emyr led Charmaine to a side door of an annex. A cool breeze drifted from the open door, bringing with it the faint scent of sandalwood.
"I'm going to visit the abbot. Do you want to cin with me?" Emyr asked. Charmaine waved her hand dismissively. "You go ahead. I'll wait outside." My Dady BR 409 Tip: You can use left, right keyboard keys to browse between chapters.
