Chapter 257 Henry looked at Seline and asked, "What's your plan?" A glint flashed in Seline's eyes as she leaned in and whispered to him.
Moments later, Henry's tense expression eased, a smile curling at the corners of his mouth as he nodded in approval. "Alright, we'll do it your way." With the crisis seemingly averted, the tension in the room lightened.
Mandy gazed at Henry with feigned concern. "Honey, your injuries are serious. Let's go to the hospital. Seeing you like this breaks my heart." Suppressing her resentment, she tried to appear worried.
Henry touched his bruised face and shook his head. "No need. It's just a small injury." In reality, it hurt like hell.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtA trip to the hospital would cost money, and right now, he couldn't afford unnecessary expenses.
Pointing at the jewelry on the table, he ordered, "Sell everything in this house. Bringall the money. I need it." Seline's face stiffened, and she was about to protest when Mandy grabbed her arm, stopping her. Mandy quickly answered, "Alright, we understand." Only then did Henry's expression soften slightly. He gestured toward Seline. "Get the first aid kit and tend to my wounds." Biting back her irritation, Seline complied and treated his injuries before silently heading upstairs. She was fuming on the inside.
In her room, she opened the safe and pulled out her treasured jewelry. As she adorned herself with the pieces, she felt a deep reluctance.
Did she really have to sell them? Tears welled in her eyes and streamed down her cheeks. She had spent so long collecting these precious items.
A sudden knock at the door startled her.
Hurriedly, she shoved the jewelry back into the safe, wiped her tears, and opened the door.
Mandy stood outside, her expression dark. Glancing cautiously toward the master bedroom to ensure Henry hadn't noticed, Mandy slipped inside and shut the door behind her.
Seline's tears started falling again as she lowered her head and whimpered, "Mom, I don't want to sell my jewelry." These treasures were her lifeblood.
Mandy grasped Seline's arm gently, her voice soothing yet firm. "We won't sell them." Yates Corporation's shares were still out of reach, making them worthless for now. But these jewelry pieces were tangible wealth. Once sold, retrieving them would be nearly impossible. Mandy knew better than to let them go. Seline hesitated. "But what about Dad?" If they didn't sell, how would they explain it to him? Given his mood tonight, it was clear he was desperate for money.
Mandy's expression turned icy. "Ignore him for now. Even if we sell, we won't sell everything. He has no idea how many jewelry pieces I've collected over the years." Did he really think she would hand over everything? Dream on!

Mandy held Seline's hand, her brows furrowing with worry. "I have a feeling something's going on with your father. Keep an eye on him at the company, and if anything happens, tellimmediately." Henry's demand for money wasn't as simple as it seemed.
Seline's expression darkened. "I will, Mom." Even she could sense that something about this situation wasn't right.
Mandy pondered for a moment, then glanced at Seline's safe, still uneasy. Frowning, she suggested, "It's better to store these in a bank. They'll be safer there." Her heart pounded with unease as if something ominous was looming.
Seline had no objections as keeping the jewelry at hwas risky.
She nodded and hesitated before stepping forward to hug Mandy. Fear laced her voice. "Mom, the way Dad is acting is scaring me." Henry had never cared about things like this before.
