Chapter 234 Cheryl clutched her chest, feeling as though a saw was cutting into her heart, making it harder to breathe.

She quickly looked away, leaning against the wall as she gasped for air.

Pulling out her phone, she dialed a number she knew by heart. After a moment of hesitation, she pressed call.

When the person on the other end answered, Cheryl bit her lip and forced out the words she never thought she'd say. "Ms. Tanner, please tell him... I agree." The moment the words left her mouth, tears poured down her face like a flood. As soon as she hung up, she couldn't hold back anymore and ran to the hospital garden.

In the secluded garden, Cheryl broke down, sobbing uncontrollably. After what felt like an eternity, her trembling hands opened her phone case. She pulled out a photo she had been keeping hidden inside.

Her fingers gently traced the bright, sunny smile of the man in the photo. Her voice was hoarse as she whispered, "I'm sorry." Tears fell onto the photo, one after another. She had finally reached her breaking point.

The rest of the afternoon passed in a blur. Later, she received another call from Sidney Tanner, who gave her an address and told her to go there.

Cheryl's eyelashes fluttered as she stepped out of the cab. She looked up at the luxurious hotel in front of her, her heart trembling uncontrollably.

Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and walked inside.

Ten minutes later, she was standing in front of the door to a presidential suite of the five-star hotel, Cheryl tugged nervously at the hem of her faded, well-worn casual outfit.

She stared down at the expensive carpet beneath her feet, biting her lip hard. She knew there would be no turning back once she knocked on this door.

Taking another shaky breath, she forced herself to lift her hand and knock.

The door swung open within seconds. The room was lavishly decorated, with a soft glow from the floor lamp casting shadows across the black leather couch.

A man sat with his long legs crossed, his cold eyes piercing as they landed on Cheryl, making her feel as though she'd been thrown into an icy abyss. His nwas Marley Finley.

Marley's gaze was unfamiliar, harsh, and mocking-nothing like the warmth she remembered from years ago. It was as if he were a completely different person. His deep, cold eyes, sharp nose, and tightly pressed lips gave his handsface an air of sternness.

Marley held a glass of red wine in his slender fingers, swirling it slowly.

Cheryl stood awkwardly in front of him, her hands clutching the sides of her clothes nervously. "Marley..." Marley's eyes darkened, his gaze icy as it settled on her. "Do I need to teach you how to please your boss?" Cheryl felt as though needles were pricking her skin. She kept her head down, unable to meet his eyes as she said, "N-no..." Her hands clenched into fists at her sides as she stepped closer to him.

Cheryl reached out, her hand hesitatingly resting on his pant leg. But Marley's eyes caught the frayed edges of her sleeve, and his expression turned even colder. Without warning, he poured the entire glass of red wine onto the back of her hand.

Cheryl didn't dare pull her hand away. She had to endure it. She could do this. If she just played along, she'd get the money, and Jenny would be saved.

Her lack of resistance only seemed to deepen the coldness in Marley's eyes. His voice was like ice. "You don't know how to please a man, do you? Take it all off." Cheryl's body froze as she looked up at him in disbelief. His face was so familiar, yet his eyes were terrifyingly distant.

Her body trembled uncontrollably.

Marley's cold gaze locked on her, his voice dripping with.

mockery. What, are you not willing to do it? If you're not willing, then get out." Tears streamed down Cheryl's face, but she couldn't give up because Jenny was counting on her.

Gritting her teeth, Cheryl wiped the tears from her cheeks and stood in front of Marley. Her fingers moved to the buttons on her shirt. She endured the humiliation and whispered, "I'll do it." One by one, the buttons cundone. Piece by piece, her clothes fell to the floor.

Marley's entire presence radiated coldness. His dark eyes watched her with increasing disdain, the mockery in his gaze growing sharper.
