Chapter 84
“She's just a vegetable who is of no threat whatsoever. Why would I be jealous of her?” Nancy retorted.
“If you don’t believe me, you can ask the person who took her away. | had nothing to do with Hedda’s
death.”
Emma covered her ears, screamed and ran out agitatedly.
As she watched her leave, Nancy finally couldn’t control her emotions and laughed out loud.
Originally, she had sdoubts about what Sarah had said. However, from Emma’s reaction, Nancy was sure
that something must have happened to Hedda. No one would compete with her for the status of the heir of the
Mellis family anymore.
She had finally won a round!
Now that both Sylvia and Hedda were dead, no one would compete with her in her relationship with
Edgar, and no one stand in the way of her path to more fand wealth.
Nancy was in a particularly good mood.
She began to eat her salad contentedly.
After taking several bites, sho
the salad on the bedside caband threw off the quilt.
Seeing this, the servant hurried over to help her up and asked in confusion, “Ms. Nancy, what are you doing?”
“I want to be discharged.”
Nancy sounded determined. With the
help of the servant, she sat in a wheelchair and left the ward.
After she cout of the hospital, Emma ordered the driver to drive to Patric’s villa as fast as he could.
Night had fallen. Stars hung in the sky and added a bit of beauty to the quiet night.
Emma barged into the yard angrily and woke the housekeeper and a group of servants who had alr fallen asleep.
“It’s late, Ms. Emma. If you need to talk to Mr. Smith, you can cback tomorrow.” The housekeeper got up to
welcher drowsily and tried to be as polite as possible.
“I can’t wait till tomorrow! | want to see my daughter right now!” Emma’s eyes were red as she pushed

him away. “Where is Hedda?
“Please calm down. You'll disturb the others rest. Please go back.” When he saw how agitated Emma was, the
housekeeper immediately stopped Emma with the help of the other servants.
“What are you waiting for? Cand help met Emma turned around and shouted angrily at her bodyguards
While the bodyguards and servants of the Mellis family were arguing, Emma snuck into the villa.
She looked up. The light on the third floor was on. She quickly went upstairs.
Patric, standing at the stairs, saw Emma. Before he could talk, Emma grabbed his sleeve.
“Where is my daughter? | need to see her now!”
Patric frowned and pulled away from her. He straightened his cuffs elegantly and said, “Calm down. She is
receiving treatment in the room on the third floor. You can rest assured.”
“No, | want to see her NOW!”
Emma could not be assured until she was sure that Hedda was alive.
Sylvia heard the quarrel outside. As soon as she cout of the room, she saw this scene and walked
over.
“Ms. Mellis, | told you that | would ensure Hedda’s safety when | took her away. You agreed at that time, but now
you've cto the villa late at night to disturb us. What do you mean by this?”
Seeing Sylvia, Emma immediately grabbed her and refused to let her go. “I don’t care about that now. | want to
stop working with you! Now taketo see Hedda. | will take her away right now!”
Sylvia frowned and pushed her hand away unhappily.
“I can understand that you're worried about your daughter, but please don’t forget that you represent the entire
Mellis family. Does the Mellis family also have such a casual attitude in business? | won't allow you to take Hedda
away.”
For a moment, Emma was at a loss for words. She didn’t know how to refute her, so she had no choice but to
make a huge fuss.
“Anyway, if you don’t letsee my daughter today, | won't leave even if | die here!”
Just as Sylvia was about to ask someone to send Emma off, a servant who had been accompanying Hedda came
out of the room anxiously.

“Ms. Sylvia, Ms. Hedda is in a critical condition!”
“What?”
Hearing the servant's voice, Emma pushed Sylvia away desperately and rushed into the room.
“How's Hedda? Letin to see her!”
Sylvia quickly grabbed her and stopped her.
If you go in now and interrupt any treatment process, you will really endanger her life! Do you really want to lose
your daughter forever?”
Emma was shocked by Sylvia's sharp tone and glare.
After being stunned for a few seconds, Emma struggled to get up as she tried to break free from Sylvia's grip.
However, she was no match for Sylvia, who had learned ju-jitsu.
“Don’t try to scare me! You took my daughter away and now you would not letsee her. If anything happens
to her, | won't let you off! | must see her today!” she said angrily.
Emma tried her best to break free from Sylvia's grip, but still failed.
“Letgo! Letin!”
“Okay, then go in! You would only interrupt the operation inside. If anything happens to Hedda, it’s all your
fault.”
Sylvia suddenly loosened her grip, crossed her arms over her chest, and looked at Emma coldly.
Emma staggered before she regained her balance and stared at Sylvia in disbelief.
“How dare you operate on Hedda without my permission?”
“Chad is operating on Hedda. He has a master’s degree in medicine and has won countless international
awards. He is the top surgeon in the entire surgical field. None of his operations have failed. | believe you
have heard of his reputation. If you rush in now and interrupt the operation, it would really hurt Hedda.”
Emma, who had already walked to the door and held the door handle, hesitated for a moment.
She and Jack had wanted to invite Chad to treat Hedda before, but Chad was too famous and aloof. A small
wealthy family like theirs in Frant City couldn't afford to do that at all.

Emma stood in front of the door. As long as she gently opened the door a little, she would be able to see her
precious daughter in the room if she wished.
However, she struggled for a long time.
In the end, she withdrew her hand.
“I will trust you one more time, Sylvia. But remember, if anything happens to Hedda, | won't let you off!*
She said unwillingly and left.
Sylvia and Patric looked at each other, breathed a sigh of relief, and returned to the operating room.
The horizon gradually brightened.
Emma got into the car and closed her eyes wearily.
“Ms. Mellis, where are we...?” the driver asked tentatively.
“Go back.”
Emma opened her eyes, and a fierce look suddenly flashed across her face.
The black BMW slowly drove into the garage. Emma’s expression changed and she ran all the way into
the hall.
Jack was sitting in the hall watching the morning news, while Nancy sat next to him.
“How harmonious!” Emma thought.
“Honey!”
Emma's sobs broke the damned harmony.
The two people sitting on the sofa turned around and saw Emma rushing to Jack with a sad face. She
cried, “Honey! Hedda is gone!”
